Wesley Day School

Wesley Day School was established in 1966.  Wesley Day School is a Christ-centered, happy, loving, nurturing, and creative place for children to grow and learn.  We are an early childhood program that teaches and strengthens each child’s spiritual, emotional, social, physical, and intellectual skills.

Our goals at Wesley Day School include:

  • Encouraging active learning and problem-solving.
  • Fostering the development of emotionally satisfying relationships.
  • Providing knowledge and experiences to grow healthy bodies.
  • Promoting a sense of community responsibility.

Wesley Day School is a 4 day, 9 month program, September through May. Our focus is a faith-based early childhood education that prepares each child for the next step.  Daily schedules that provide a balance of individual and group activities, active and quiet play, and indoor and outdoor learning experiences. Inviting, age-appropriate classroom learning centers that give children opportunities to enhance skills, make choices, solve problems, and experiment while interacting with teachers and peers.  All of our preschool students also receive program enrichment classes in Art History, Life Science, Motor Skills,  and beginning Spanish. Our 4-year-old classrooms are equipped with iPads and Apple TV’s with projectors to assist our teachers in preparing the kids for kindergarten.

Preschool curriculum is the framework of a child’s education, that is why we chose ABCJesusLovesMe.  ABCJesusLovesMe Preschool Curriculum is a comprehensive, research-based preschool curriculum focusing on Bible, academics, and development. Each curriculum contains goals and objectives to gauge the child’s learning and growth. ABCJesusLovesMe provides materials to help adults be intentional with the children in their lives. At its core are five comprehensive, research-based curricula for ages 1-5 that focus on academics, development, and Bible learning through play. Especially written for preschoolers and churches is a Preschool Bible Curriculum comprised of 52 weekly Lesson Plans to teach children who God is through stories in the Bible. Beyond this, they offer various Unit Studies, Digital Downloads, and practical tips to guide parents and teachers. ABCJesusLovesMe lovingly exposes our staff and students to the beauty of God’s word through intentional play, bible stores, and scripture readings and great traditional music that children of all ages love. The academics and motor skill development allow the freedom for teacher input as well as a solid foundation for a child’s developmental growth.

In addition to ABCJesusLovesMe, classroom time consist of weekly Chapel time, circle time with morning Prayer, Pledge of Allegiance and Pledge to the Texas Flag,  Bible story time, fine and gross motor skills, gym time for large motor skills, and outdoor play.  We also have hands-on science discovery classes, early childhood music in motion program, Spanish Language basics and art history class.

Jesus came to give us a joy-filled life, and His example reminds us that serving others is a key part. From rocking babies and mowing grass to leading teams and brewing coffee, every person has gifts to share and resources to give to help build God’s church. We make it easy to jump in and get started.

Small Groups

Wesley’s Small Groups provide a place for people to belong so they can become who God has called them to be. Going from “rows” on Sunday morning to “circles” during the week helps us create relationships, allows us the opportunity to “do life” together and move from where we are to where God wants us to be. Small Groups are comprised of men and women from all generations who meet throughout the week. They are a place for those who desire to grow, ask questions, and be encouraged when life gets tough. More than just a group of friends, our groups exist to demonstrate and share the love of Jesus by serving our community.

Our groups create new relationships through shared passions, including Bible study topics, common interest groups, men’s, women’s, children’s, and outreach. Contact the church office for more information or join us at the next scheduled meeting! All are welcome.
